Happy birthday to Tom Clements, who celebrated his special day at the Protect Our Nation’s Youth Bronco All-Stars playoffs before heading home to a spaghetti dinner.
Tom’s relative is Jeremiah “Shaggy” Sanchez, who anchored first base and had the only score, Thursday.
Tom said people can start planning for the PMRF July 4th festivities which will be held July 1 (that’s a Friday) from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Kaulupono coaches Bobby Kamakele and Pedro Saligumba had the basketball girls manning the food booth at the KYBA 17 and Under basketball tournament (Tom said he might check out the action, Friday) at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center. Coach Max Manera had an earlier game, but stayed to watch the tournament, noting that Lokahi, coached by Mits Yokotake and Lew Lindsey, was like an all-Kaua‘i team with players from different schools.
Tab Matsumoto is looking ahead to Saturday night when his H1 and 1 got head-to-head with Go EZ and Ian Kahn, both teams being undefeated in the KYBA 18 and Over league.
But right now, it’s Miss Kaua‘i Filipina time.
