Congratulations to Gini and Joe Stoddard (see a photo of the couple at www.thegardenisland.com) on their 60th wedding anniversary, and to Joe on his 90th birthday!
The Stoddards’ son, Richard, made the trip home to visit from Beatty, Nevada, and Larry Rivera (he said he makes a wicked mountain apple pie!) was not just the entertainment for the night, he also did emcee duties.
Lenore and Bob Klass (get your pie recipes ready for the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau Fair!) are waiting for Larry’s mountain apples to “be just right” so they can sample his pie, and where there’s Larry, there’s Charlie Perreira who was recognized as a Kaua‘i Museum Living Treasure several ceremonies ago.
Maryanne Kusaka had a special lei for Gini and after the night of celebration, was at the Kaua‘i Museum Living Treasures program, Saturday.
Mary Thronas said having the program in the daytime is better for the kupuna, and Dickie Chang got in some wala‘au with Chucky Boy Chock. Hats off to Jane Gray and all the museum ‘ohana on a great program.
