Registration for the 10th annual Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament is currently being accepted for play on Sept. 5.
Oscar Portugal of the Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce said the tournament will tee off at 7 a.m. at the Wailua Golf Course.
Following the tournament, golfers will enjoy a luncheon program at the Lydgate Park pavilion where the grand prize winner will receive $500. There will be other prizes awarded during the tournament which benefits the Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce scholarship program.
The tournament was started in 2001 and since then, the Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce has awarded more than $50,000 to deserving Kaua‘i students.
Danah Abundo, a recent Kaua‘i High School graduate, McStephens Balisa, a Kaua‘i High School graduate, and Gerlie Ann Lacerona, a Waimea High School graduate, were recipients of $1,000 scholarships, presented by the Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce, recently.
