The public is invited to participate in the first-ever 5K run/walk on the Pacific Missile Range Facility’s runway, starting at 7:30 a.m., Sept. 17.
Hosted by the PMRF Morale Welfare and Recreation Committee, applicants can enjoy a discount by registering online through 1:30 p.m., Aug. 31.
Online registration is $28.75, and registration at the PMRF Fitness Center is $30. Active duty military and dependents are free.
The entry fee will earn the preregistered participant a race bag, commemorative T-shirt with prizes being awarded to the top male and female runners in the Under 18, Open Division, 35-45, and Over 45 age groups.
All registered runners will be placed on an access list to enter the base. A driver’s license, proof of vehicle registration and car insurance are required to enter the base.
Race packets will be available for pick-up on Sept. 16 from noon until 8 p.m. at the Fitness Center, Building 1264 in PMRF, or on race morning from 6 to 6:30 a.m. at the information table near the Hangar Bay doors.
The race starts at the Hangar Bay, Building 384, with parking across the street in the Building 385 lot.
From Lihu‘e, proceed south on Highway 50 and turn left at the PMRF North Gate between Mile Marker 32 and 33.
Proceed on Ola Ka Moi Road to the first stop sign, then a right on Li‘i Road, proceeding to the Hangar Bay and parking lot.
