Motorcycle, hotrods, classic cars, imports enthusiasts and the general public are invited to participate in the 9th Annual Special Olympics Kaua‘i Benefit Ride on Sept. 4 from the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.
Registration for the ride is from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. and a silent auction opens at 9 a.m., running through 1 p.m. The convoy starts at 10 a.m. and lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Special Olympic Kaua‘i athletes are also selling tickets for Pau Hana Packs which consist of lau lau with butterfish, kalua pork and Portuguese sausage for $10. The Pau Hana Packs will be available at the event from 9 a.m. to noon.
The convoy will leave the convention hall and travel to the Westside, open to motorcycles, hotrods, classic cars and the public.
A minimum of $20 donation will earn a special commemorative event T-shirt and qualify the donor for lucky number drawing premiums.
Organizers are asking for advance registrations by Aug. 26. Contributors may also register on the day of the event.

Special Olympics’ mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
