Keegan Loo of Lihu‘e shaved eight strokes off his first round score, but finished in a tie for 14th place in the Boys 13-14 division at the 2011 Dave and Buster’s Junior Classic which concluded play, Sunday at the Waikele Golf Club on O‘ahu.
Loo, playing from the White tees on a Par 72 6,261 yards, ended with a 170 (89-81), tying with Ryan Kunihisa of Honolulu (91-79-170).
Sian Rogers of Honolulu, shooting even par on his opening round, Saturday, finished at the top of a three-way tie for the lead, getting the division title with a two-round 149 (72-77) over Kyle Suppa of Honolulu (76-73-149) and Caleb Keohokapu of Waimanalo, O‘ahu (74-75-149).
Kenji Miyata of Kapa‘a, the only other Kaua‘i Junior Golfer in the tournament, finished 24th in the Boys 15-18 division with a 167 (84-83) playing off a Par 72 6,663 yards off the Blue tees.
Skye Inakoshi of Honolulu fired a one-under par 71, Sunday to end the round with a 139 (68-71) and take the division, two strokes ahead of Richard Hattori, also of Honolulu, who carded a two-under par 70 in the final round to end at 141 (71-70).
Mariel Galdiano of Pearl City, O‘ahu, finished with a two-round 156 (80-76) to take the Girls 13-14 division and Allisen Corpuz of Honolulu carded a two-under par 70 to finish with a 149 (79-70) to take the Girls 15-18 division six strokes ahead of Cirea Min of Hilo, Hawai‘i (81-74-155).
The Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association sends its appreciation to Matt Luckett, general manager of Dave and Buster’s Honolulu, for his support and generosity during the weekend event, the second for Dave and Buster’s.
