Kudos to Tepairu Manea and the Heiva i Kaua‘i Committee on putting together the 10th annual event at the Kapa‘a Beach Park.
If you want to find a place where photographers hang out, Michael Teruya and Steve Read were out with all their Canon equipment, and there were many cell phones that could take photos as well.
Ray Carpenter was out in force as he is with many of the Kapa‘a events, and Angelo Catiggay (he was at the Paradise Ride) said Kenny Ishii was supposed to be at the Heiva as well.
Welcome home to Hulali Kiyoko Rivera who returned from her treatments for brain tumors in California with her mom, Anolani.
They were helping at the food booth along with the ‘ohana who has hosted numerous garage sales, car washes and other events to help the little girl.
Michael and Liah Drake had the family out helping with demonstrations of Tahitian dance, drumming and even Samoan fire knife dancing (Sara Hersey said hula hoop has similar movements … how do you get the fire on the hula hoop?).
OK, time to go check out the today’s Sunshine Markets.
