And since a trip to the Westside is in order (KIF football kicks off at 2 p.m. at Hanapepe Stadium), drop by and visit with Cindy Goldstein at Pioneer Hi-Bred Waimea Research Station who will be hosting an open house from 10 a.m. as well. Bring a non-perishable can of food for their food drive benefiting the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, said Kelvin Moniz.
But before making the trip west, stop by the Lihu‘e Missionary Church (they’re behind Hamura Saimin) for its annual bazaar starting at 9 a.m., but you need to go early because the line forms way before the gates open at 9 a.m. and the baked goods and cooked items go fast.
And then, visit with Michelle Emura and Yvette Sahut at the American Cancer Society’s Hoedown for Hope at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club. You might get lucky and see Mary Williamson.
