LIHU‘E — The Sept. 17 KIF varsity football game between Kaua‘i and Kapa‘a high schools that was suspended at the end of the third quarter due to darkness will be completed on Tuesday, a KIF release states.
The game, which will begin at the start of the fourth quarter with Kapa‘a leading 7-6, will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium. No admission will be charged.
The game will have a huge impact on the final KIF standings. Kapa‘a and Kaua‘i meet on Saturday for the final full contest of the regular season. If the 3-1 Warriors win that game, they could take the KIF outright with a fourth quarter victory over the Red Raiders. If the Warriors split the two games, a playoff game against the 4-2 Waimea Menehune will decide the title.
If the Red Raiders (0-4) sweep the Warriors, Waimea wins the title.
