WAINIHA – The Department of Water is asking residents of Wainiha and Ha’ena to restrict water usage to essential needs only, due to a low level of water in tanks servicing that area. Due to the inclement weather, crews are unable to reach the area in order to rectify the problem, a county news release states.
Residents are also asked to notify their neighbors of this urgent request and encourage their participation. Essential needs includes: cooking; bathing; and toilet flushing.
Water conservation measures include: refraining from car washing; reducing outdoor irrigation; and use water wisely indoors and outdoors.
