Mahalo to Athena Abadilla (she’s the spelling bee queen) for the nice snack following the Will Veech Inter-Regional Soccer Tournament, Thursday.
Jade Murphy, the sister of Pierce (remember that fleet-footed guy?), was in action with the North Shore team that ended up defeating Athena’s Waimea team.
But the rains that doused players and spectators only served to whip up the Waimea players’ sense of humor.
Brad Hiranaka said Kaua‘i Youth Football has a double-header this weekend at the New Kapa‘a Town Park stadium when Na Koa plays Kapolei, an O‘ahu team, Saturday and the Kaua‘i Bulldogs play that same team Sunday.
But Val Rynda is already trying to figure out what to get when Brenda Jose and Lorna Santos open the doors to the Lawa‘i Cannery garage sale benefiting the Waimea High School Project Grad Sunday.
In the meantime, Eden Arellano and her ‘ohana are going to visit Ed Kawamura and all the veterans at the Veterans Day parade (check out Phyllis Kunimura and the KIDS School gang afterward), which starts at 10 a.m. in Kapa‘a.
