Kristen Sugihara, placing in the Top 5 of the MaxPreps Signatures, second entry, contest, was busy with the media crew, Monday at Vidinha Stadium.
Congratulations to Kapa‘a coach Keli‘i Morgado and all the Warriors on its KIF title win…kudos to JV upgrade Jonathan Paleka (Calvin Paleka said the line coming to Lihu‘e had Kapa‘a town plugged up) on his winning field goal!
With the win, the Warriors now host Pearl City, Saturday at Vidinha Stadium starting at 4:30 p.m (can we fill the stadium the way we did, Monday?).
Hats off to Bricen Moritsugu of Alu Like and his Kaua‘i College and Career Fair committee on another great event. Kapa‘a seniors Ilona Oliver (the hair is nice) and Raquelle Matayoshi, video producers of the winning Farmers Insurance Hot Shots video contest, were checking out their future and Lt. Col. Robert Levoit, director of the Kapa‘a High School Jr. ROTC program (they do their veterans oral histories, today), was volunteering at the West Point station.
David Proudfoot was helping out at the Coast Guard Academy station, and happy birthday to Nellie Okamoto who was in Honolulu during the Kaua‘i United Way Walk-a-thon.
