Hawai‘i Children’s Theatre closed its two-week run of “Willy Wonka, The Musical” on Nov. 27 at the War Memorial Convention Hall. A colorful candy shop and a larger-than-life cast of characters complemented this musical adaptation of the Roald Dahl children’s story, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
The two-act musical featured a mixed cast of adults and children, and a colorful set transported audiences from Charlie’s dreary home to Willy Wonka’s colorful chocolate factory.
The magic of the musical spilled out into the lobby, which was transformed into a makeshift candy shop.
