HANAPEPE — For the second straight year, Ed and Cynthia Justus of the Talk Story Bookstore spearheaded the Christmas Festival at the Hanapepe County Park.
With the holidays rapidly approaching and the merchants getting into the spirit with holiday lighting displays and sales aids, the Christmas Festival is designed to have people enjoy the offerings of the Hanapepe town merchants, coinciding with the town’s weekly Friday Art Night.
Shoppers and visitors to Hanapepe town were treated to supplemental offerings as several community service agencies, including The Salvation Army, Hanapepe Corps, and others joined crafters and food vendors who set up shop for the one-night stand in the park.
One of the vendors, Geri Yamamoto, had the answer to all the traveling done by state Rep. Dee Morikawa — a Grow With Me Tote, hand-made by Yamamoto.
“This was one of my new items this year,” Yamamoto said.
The park featured a large Norfolk decorated by students from ‘Ele‘ele Elementary School.
The tree will be lit through the holidays along with the student decorations.
