LIHU‘E — County of Kaua‘i Prosecuting Attorney Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho has released a list of indictments from grand jury sessions in December.
A five-count indictment was returned against Christian Raven Wood. The indictments allege that on Aug. 7, 2011, he committed first-degree burglary, two counts each of third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal property damage. He is accused of injuring two individuals after illegally entering a Kilauea residence and damaging property.
Wood’s case is set for jury trial on April 16.
Raymond Rapozo was indicted on two counts alleging third-degree promotion of methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia on April 26, 2011. The case is set for jury trial on April 16.
Dennis C. Williams was indicted on a charge of second-degree theft in a Sept. 23 incident.
Acting as a principal or accomplice, Williams is accused of concealing or taking possession of goods or merchandise exceeding $300 in value from a local retail store. A warrant was issued for Williams’ arrest, and bail was set at $1,000.
The grand jury returned a seven-count indictment against Gregory Perreira and Natasha Palmeira.
Perreira was indicted on two counts of third-degree promotion of methamphetamine and oxycodone, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.
Palmeira is charged with one count of third-degree dangerous drug promotion and paraphernalia, along with third-degree promotion of marijuana.
The case has been set for jury trial on March 19.
In a separate case, Gregory Perreira was indicted on a charge of third-degree promotion of methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia on June 21. Perreira will be arraigned on the charges on Jan. 24.
Jerrid K. Ham Young was indicted on a charge of second-degree assault for causing substantial bodily injury to another person on Oct. 28.
The case is set for jury trial on April 16.
Dante Hamilton was indicted for first-degree terroristic threatening for allegedly making verbal threats to two individuals on Dec. 18. The case was due for a status hearing.
Jay Ross Keone DeCosta was indicted on charges of first-degree harassment, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, family or household member abuse, and third-degree criminal property damage in connection with an incident on Nov. 4. DeCosta was arraigned on Jan. 19.
Kaiole Malie Gushiken was indicted for attempted first-degree assault and for second-degree assault for allegedly using a baseball bat in an attack on Oct. 5, 2011.
An arraignment and plea is scheduled Jan. 24.
Brian Jaime was named in a four-count indictment for two counts each of first-degree terroristic threatening and harassment last October and November. The case is set for arraignment on Jan. 24.
Jonie Ragasa was indicted for second-degree criminal property damage exceeding $1,500 stemming from a March 31 incident. A warrant was issued for Ragasa’s arrest, and the court ordered that she be advised of his arraignment date and released on her own recognizance.
Erwin L. Morcilo was indicted for first-degree terroristic threatening with a pipe and for harassment stemming from a Nov. 26 incident. Morcilo was arraigned on Jan. 19.
Calvin Lopez was indicted for second-degree theft and for unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
He is accused of stealing a wallet on June 8, 2011. The case is set for jury trial on April 23.
Thomas Refamonte was served with a 10-count indictment alleging that in September and October, he committed six counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of third-degree sexual assault, and two-counts of family or household member abuse.
The case is set for jury trial on April 23.
Jason Ornaellas was indicted for first-degree terroristic threatening, alleging that on Nov. 8 he threatened bodily injury to another with an air soft handgun.
The case is set for jury trial on April 16.
Bronson Balino was indicted for credit card theft, unauthorized possession of confidential information, fraudulent use of a credit card, second-degree theft, third-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.
The indictments stem from an April 16 case in which Balino is accused of illegally obtaining and using a bank card for an amount exceeding $300, and unauthorized control of retail items exceeding $100.
Balino was arraigned on Jan. 24. The case is set for jury trial on April 23.
Mahealani Elizabeth Goodwin was indicted for credit card theft, second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.
Goodwin allegedly illegally obtained a credit card from another person on Aug. 30, and was allegedly involved with thefts of more than $300 and $100 in separate incidents. The case is set for jury trial on April 23.
William C. Corbett was indicted for first-degree negligent homicide and two counts of third-degree assault.
The charges stem from a Feb. 10, 2010, incident in which Corbett is accused of causing the death of Glenn Doi by the operation of a vehicle in a negligent manner while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
On the same day, Corbett is accused of causing serious bodily injury to Ashlie Moriguchi and Carlos Espada with a vehicle. The trial date is set for May 7.
Jack Nishimoto was indicted on felony abuse of family or household members.
Nishimoto is accused of physically abusing a family or household member on Oct. 29. The felony charge applies because Nishimoto was convicted of the same crime twice before and at least once within the past two years.
