Kapa‘a High School took home both the boys and girls KIF Championships for swimming Saturday afternoon at the YMCA Pool in Puhi.
On a day where eight different records fell, it was the Warriors’ Anya Littlefield that highlighted the Eastside school’s path to victory. Littlefield won two individual events and teamed up to win two relay events. Littlefield set a new KIF record in the 200-yard freestyle race with a time of 1:58.56. She broke another KIF record in the 500-yard freestyle when she touched the wall with the clock reading 5:15.78.
Littlefield’s relay teams were no slouches either. The team of Littlefield, Lana Vali, Tambrina Fairbanks and Maluhia Stark-Kinimaka broke the KIF Championship record in the 200-yard medley relay by over two seconds with a time of 1:59.71.

Kaua‘i’s other super freshman, Kate Machorek, broke two KIF Championship records, one with a 2:16.76 time in the 200-yard IM and the other with a 1:02.77 in the 100-yard backstroke. Britzmann claimed her own win in the girls 100-yard butterfly over Waimea’s Kayla Ishida, while Santos edged Kapa‘a’s Maluhia Stark-Kinimaka in the girls 100-yard freestyle.
