The state Office of Hawaiian Affairs will sponsor a Native Hawaiian Scholarship ‘Aha (fair) at 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Kaua‘i Community College.
“Millions of dollars are available in scholarships and financial aid,” agency spokeswoman Alice Malepeai Silbanuz said Tuesday.
High school students, parents, teachers, enrolled college students and counselors are invited to the free session to learn about scholarships and other financial aid opportunities during the event at the community college’s dining room.
The Kaua‘i event is being held in partnership with the University of Hawai‘i, Native Hawaiian Education Association, Gear Up Hawai‘i and the Pacific Financial Aid Association.
Agencies that provide scholarships will be on hand, as well as experts on financial aid applications and getting help with Hawaiian ancestry verification, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs stated in a news release.
