Born and raised in Sacramento, Calif., Timothy Lee began piano lessons at age 9 and studied with two different teachers through high school.
He had never performed in public until 2004, when he participated in the Aloha Medical Mission’s “Four Doctors and a Patient” concert at Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu.
He will be offering a mix of classical and pop, with selections ranging from “Adagio” from Bach-Marcello and “Allemande” from Bach’s French Suite No. 2 to pop favorites “Over the Rainbow,” “I Remember You” and “Tangerine.”
Joyce Anglemyer has been a member of the Kaua‘i Chorale since coming to the island in 1987, where she has been a soloist. She was a member of the Kaua‘i Chamber Singers and currently is organist at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapa‘a. She is a teacher of piano, organ and voice at her studio located in Lihu‘e.
Flutist Dorothy Wu enjoys a career of nearly unparalleled diversity, garnering recognition not only for her inspired performances, but also for her distinctive gifts as a writer, producer, educator and creative firebrand.
In 2008, Wu starred in an improvisational acting role in the short piece “Proteus Syndrome” about the mysterious savant artist The Beast, by film director Stephen Dirkes and photographer Tal Shpantzer.
Written works penned by Dorothy Wu have been published in Flute Talk and The New York Flute Club newsletters.
Singer Joyce Anglemyer was born and raised on a cattle ranch in Montana. Her family was musical, her parents having a swing band. Her mother played the piano, her dad violin and saxophone, and her brother the trumpet and drums. She began singing solos at community events when she was 5 years old and was encouraged to study voice professionally. At age 14, she went to Los Angeles where she studied with Kathleen Hart Foster.
After graduating with a degree in business administration from Kinman Business University, Joyce set out for New York City to study voice at the Juilliard School of Music.
Tickets for the concert at 4 p.m. on Jan. 29 at will be available at Scotty’s Music in Kalaheo, Zach’s at Coconut Marketplace in Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i Sound & Music in Kapa‘a and Hanalei Surf Co. in Hanalei. The ticket price is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Student tickets are $5 and children under the age of 8 are free.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. at the venue, Lihu‘e Parish Hall, at 4340 Nawiliwili Rd. in Lihu‘e. This is the parish hall connected to Lihu‘e United Church behind King Auto. Complimentary light refreshments will follow.
