Congratulations to Dr. Dileep Bal, Toni Torres, Dennis Esaki, Tommy (it still sounds better as “Thomas”) Noyes, Col. Jerry Arends and the many, many (400-plus) people who got Tropic Kaua‘i Care off to a strong start Tuesday.
Ben Nelson of All Saints Episcopal Church in Kapa‘a was a happy camper (no running water at the Kapa‘a Armory) because the civil engineers in the group are adding more open space for the church.
Nathan Kalama did an awesome job with the opening oli and pule, taking time to explain “aloha” to the visiting medical professionals who are offering free health care to anyone through three sites set up around the island.
Kelvin Moniz is going crazy because today is the launch of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank’s Spring Food and Fund Drive. Look for the brown bags and envelopes in the paper today.
He said the eight most requested items include pasta, soups, tuna, rice, canned fruits, peanut butter, Ensure/Pediasure and canned veggies.
Stay tuned for the upcoming Food Collection day.
Happy Leap Wednesday (that’s an Andrea Frainier term) to all!
