Mochi and green waste were the topics of the day Saturday as Sherry Amimoto said they had strawberry mochi at the HGEA Rummage Sale benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
But KQNG radio listeners were more concerned about green waste and transfer stations as Ron Wiley begged his KONG scouts for reports (no green waste except the Hanapepe transfer station).
Priscilla Badua and Becky Komaki are HGEA members so they had the West Kaua‘i Methodist Church malasadas cooking, and of course, everything benefits the Relay for Life on April 28 (No, they won’t have malasadas, there.).
Sandi Kato-Klutke did strawberry mochi one better as she had both blueberry and strawberry mochi at the Moloa‘a Bay Coffee truck (Daphne McClure was doing the substitute Sandi thing while Sandi had her hair cut).
Shelly Paik said in light of the upcoming National Peanut Butter and Jam day, April 2, people should check out the Peanut Butter and Guava Jelly ice cream at the shop next to Panda Express, and if they’re out, the lemon gelato is a good substitute.
