Wow! What a softball game between Waimea and Kaua‘i High School to start the second round of KIF softball!
Joy Kouchi was doing her holoholo around the Isenberg Park and didn’t realize there was a game going on. Mama Leah Scovel said the next home game is going to be full-on at the food booth with pasteles and gandule rice and Michael Koerte said the game was so good people would pay admission to see that kind of game.
Tuesday night, we had the same kind of action at KIF volleyball and the excitement continued Thursday at the KIF qualifying meet.
Coach Basil Scott said Thursday was perfect track weather, the wind calming down and things staying pretty cool. Kevin Cadiente had pictures of the 108-pound ulua he snagged while everyone was at softball and the action continues — tennis at KCC at the same time as Nelson Batalion’s Spring Festival with Easter eggs and all that goes with spring, Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
OK, Happy Easter, Kaua‘i! There’s also Hanamatsuri at the Soto Zen Temple in Hanapepe.
