People interested in playing soccer in the adult soccer league are asked to connect with any of the players on the Kaua‘i Men’s Soccer Association, or call Warren Amuro at 647-4566 or Gary Hudson at 652-6041.
Hudson said KMSA will be playing a summer season on Sundays starting May 20 at Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Sports Park located adjacent to Lydgate Park.
The men’s league will start May 20 with games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The co-ed division will start play in early June. Both leagues are scheduled to end in late August.
The men’s league is open to all men, and the co-ed league is open to all women, as well as men ages 35 and older.
Hudson said KMSA currently has three men’s teams and four co-ed teams ready to take the field. Both leagues are sanctioned through the Hawai‘i Soccer Association, and the KMSA will be hiring officials to ensure fair play.
For those interested in seeing some of the pre-season play, Hudson said pick-up practice games are being played Tuesdays at Kilauea Park, Wednesdays at Wailua Homesteads Park Fridays at the Weinberg fields at Lydgate, and Thursdays and Sundays at Kalawai Park in Kalaheo.
Practices and pick-up games usually start shortly after 5 p.m. at each location.
Registration for the co-ed league will also take place at Lydgate Park on April 27 and May 4, and at Kalawai Park on April 29 and May 6.
