OZone picked up its second straight win Thursday at the Nawiliwili Yacht Club Joel Ehrlich Memorial Rum Race Series, Race No. 3, at Nawiliwili Harbor.
Racing under 10-knot to 15-knot winds out of the northeast, OZone crossed the five-mile course on a 54:02 elapsed sail, correcting to 54:07 PHRF for top honors.
Fast Company rebounded from its last week’s showing to cross second place just a minute back of OZone, stopping the clock on a 55:06 elapsed sail and correcting to 55:11 PHRF.
Papa‘au, an Express 27, filled in the third berth on a 59:15 elapsed sail, correcting to 56:43 PHRF, followed by Bonjolea, dropping from its strong finish last week, to a 58:24 elapsed sail, ahead of Papa‘au, but correcting to 58:13 PHRF for fifth place.
Bonjolea also corrected to 50:02 Club for top honors in that division.
Lelele (58:24 elapsed, 58:13 PHRF), Coyote (1:06:45 elapsed, 1:02:31 PHRF), Mapuana (1:05:48 elapsed, 1:02:37 PHRF), Speedy (12:04:24 elapsed, 1:04:30 PHRF), Malolo (1:11:26 elapsed, 1:11:53 PHRF) and Maeva (1:10:54 elapsed, 1:14:27 PHRF) rounded out the strong fleet showing.
The public is invited to view the series Thursday from the Nawiliwili Harbor jetty wall area when the first flags fly at 5 p.m.
