LIHU‘E — Reid Judson is suing Norberto Garcia and Kaua‘i County for alleged negligence in an officer-involved automobile crash. Garcia, an officer with Kaua‘i Police Department, was driving his squad car in the Princeville area of Kuhio Highway on Feb.
LIHU‘E — Reid Judson is suing Norberto Garcia and Kaua‘i County for alleged negligence in an officer-involved automobile crash.
Garcia, an officer with Kaua‘i Police Department, was driving his squad car in the Princeville area of Kuhio Highway on Feb. 12 when he struck the rear of Johnson’s van.
Judson, 33 of Kilauea, is alleging that the officer’s negligence caused the accident that he claims resulted in permanent physical injury and related suffering. He seeks damages and diminution of earning capacity and for property damage to his van.
The lawsuit was filed with 5th Circuit Court on Monday and the case is assigned to Judge Kathleen Watanabe.
A hearing will be scheduled after the defendants have responded to the complaint.
