Kudos too, to Norberto Garcia and the Kaua‘i Veterans Council on a great service. Not having Bill Honjiyo around was definitely felt and Ed Kawamura was on O‘ahu for the annual Lantern Floating Ceremony (can we coordinate one here?), but everyone else stepped up to fill the void.
Major Victor Aguilar had his Waimea High School Junior ROTC in fine form and was happy he “survived another one.”
Meanwhile, kudos to Cory Gokan and the Lihu‘e Baseball League on another great Da Bash baseball tournament. Robert Tamura said he dropped by, but it was hard to get excited because he didn’t know any of the players.
Instead, he ran into Gabrielle “Gabby” Buist at Starbucks before heading to the Memorial Day service Monday, and was thrilled when he saw her at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.
OK, time to go check out the Congressional Gold Medal ceremony.
