Alexander Barclay
Alexander S. Barclay of Kapa‘a died at home on May 20, 2012, at the age of 67. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 23, 1944, and retired from Chrysler Motors in Ontario, California, moving to Kaua‘i on May 1, 2008. He will be remembered for his gentle, loving spirit and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, John Barclay; daughters, Leah Spatafora, Christina Dyer, Jean Prohidney, Ann Dilley; brother, Iain Barclay; sisters, Barbara Jones, Jean Tackett; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on June 3, 2012 at Kapa‘a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4-1731 Kuhio Highway in Kapa‘a with visitation from 2:30 p.m. and services at 3:30 p.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Barclay family with arrangements.
Richard Heppard
Richard Gordon Heppard of Kapa‘a died at home on May 27, 2012, at the age of 77. He was born in Michigan on July 26, 1934, and retired as a commercial printing company owner.
He is survived by his wife, Norah Heppard; children, Desiree Ganz, Aileena Heppard-Gork, LeeAnn Gonyou Ather, Mark Gonyou; sister, Sharon Kaye; brother Gary Heppard; three Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family service will be held.

Francis Pahia
Francis Pahia passed away at the age of 85 on May 5, 2012, peacefully at home. He was born on March 16, 1927, in Honolulu. He retired from the United States Air Force and The Operating Engineers. He also worked for Hwaiian Telephone, Tom Okada Trucking Company, the State Tile Company, Peter Kiewit & Co., Morrison & Knudsen and Hawaiian Dredging Company.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Darlene Kaanoi; son, James Daniel Pahia; and his twin brother, Frank Pahia.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Abigail Kaui Ornellas Pahia; daughters, Patricia Kanohokula, Laura Limo (Ernie), Linda Canincia (Robert), Charlene Omura (Letty), and Karen Pahia; sons, James Gary Francis Pahia; brother, John of Las Vegas; sister, Rose Gleason of Mililani; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Henry (Rowena) Ornellas, Katherine (Samuel) Huddy Sr., Patsy (Francis) Hapenney, Daniel Kama; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and services will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 13 at Mililani Makai Chapel. Burial to follow at Punchbowl Cemetery. Casual Attire, flowers welcome.
Bruce Perdue
Bruce Sinjin Perdue of Kilauea passed into eternity at 2:30 a.m. on May 21, 2012. For someone who died at the young age of 23, he left an amazing legacy.
Bruce is remembered as a person who always took the time to acknowledge everyone, say hello, and favor you with his brilliant smile.
His community will always love and respect him, for the way he lived his life, with consistent aloha for everyone. He knew what he wanted, and was always striving to better himself. He had a strong work ethic instilled at a young age by working for his father’s business, North Shore Custom Floors; and later at Kintaro’s, Duke’s, Dave Taylor Construction and the Army National Guard.
He was proceeded in death by his grandmother Marguerite Perdue; his grandfather Robert Perdue; and his aunt Cira Angelica Marin.
He is survived by mother Goretti Perdue; father Robert Perdue; sister Wren Perdue; brother Christian Perdue; hanai grandmother Joan Woodward; and cousin Adam Kalani Ramson, all of Kaua‘i.
On his mother’s side he is survived by grandmother Victoria Marin Marin; grandfather Formerio Flores Perez;aunties Rosa Andrade, Irma Flores Marin (Pancho), Socorro Flores Marin, Victoria Flores Marin (Mayolo), Trinidad Flores Marin (Agustine), and uncle Formerio Flores (Yadira), all of Mexico, as well as uncles Oscar Marin of Colorado and Ferreol Flores Marin (Lorraine) of Texas; and numerous cousins from Mexico, Colorado and Texas.
On his father’s side he is survived by his aunt Mollie Lamberton (Chris), and cousins Ryan Lamberton (Meghan), Morgan Lamberton and Kelcie Lamberton, all of California.
Bruce will be forever loved and missed by many. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 2, at Kaua‘i Christian Academy. Visitation with family will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Service and lunch will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Spreading of ashes at Kalihiwai Bay to follow.
Placido Valenciano
Placido Dias Valenciano of Hanapepe, Kauai, died on May 17, 2012, at the age of 95. He was born on March 16, 1917, in Dingras, Philippines. He was a welder with Olokele Sugar Co., welding instructor at Kaua‘i Community College, welding instructor in the U.S. Army, and a former Civil Service Commissioner. He also served on the Salary Advisory Committee for the County of Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Patricia Valenciano; daughter, Mary Sandra Claire; and his brother, Mariano Valenciano.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Bolosan Valenciano; two sons, Placido (Michelle) Valenciano of Lihu‘e and Randal (Debbie) Valenciano of Lihu‘e; four daughters, Patricia (Roland) Pablo of Waimea, Glenda (Reynold) Miyazaki of Lawai, Marilyn (Walter) Billingsley of O‘ahu, and Crystal (Bob) Rowe of Wailua; 14 grandchildren, Jayson (Cecilie) Pablo, Tracy (Don) Pablo Sanchez, Corey Pablo, Travis (Jana) Miyazaki, Craig Miyazaki, Geoffrey (Brittany) Billingsley, Tony Billingsley, Logan Rowe, Whitney Rowe, Stephen Valenciano, Ryan Valenciano, Marisa Valenciano, Dreana Valenciano, and Randon Valenciano; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Guirao, Malie Miyazaki, Jack Billingsley and Colton Billingsley; a brother, Juan Valenciano; and a sister, Virginia Ballesteros.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 2, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Service to begin at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery. The family suggests casual attire.

Fernando “Sonny” Dizol Jr., of Koloa, Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i died on May 17, 2012, at Straub Hospital, O‘ahu at the age of 78.
He was born on December 28, 1933, in Kilauea, Kaua‘i. He retired from the County of Kaua‘i Parks and Recreation division. He was also a veteran in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Sylvia Kaho‘ohanohano Dizol Sr. He is survived by his wife, Zina Kilauano Dizol of Koloa; five sons, Fernando (Francine) Dizol III of Lihu‘e, Alan Dizol Sr. of Colorado, Mark (Dawn) Dizol of Lawa‘i, James (Zenaida) Dizol of Koloa, Kekoa (Delia) Dizol of Koloa; seven daughters, Vicki Mostofo of Colorado, Selina (Rolando) Galvan of Colorado, Kawailani Kilauano of Kekaha, Elizabeth Dizol of Koloa, Raylene “Sissy” Kahale of Koloa, Andra Ota of Lihu‘e, Leanora Kaiaokamalie of Koloa; one brother, Alex Dizol of Missiouri; one sister, Eleanor Tamura of Honolulu; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
