Mauro Politi, former chef at Tahiti Nui in Hanalei, and Ross Kleinberg of Hanalei Pasta have come a long way in less than a year, Saturday having three hot dishes (gourmet) and three different lasagnas for people wanting an early start for Mother’s Day at the Kaua‘i Community Market at the Kaua‘i Community College.
The couple said their website is under construction and they’re at the Waipa farmers market, Tuesdays in Hanalei, and the Gourmet Community Market at The Shops at Kukui‘ula on Wednesdays.
Melissa McFerrin said it could have been busier, but the KCC graduation the night before kept the crowd in check. Sandi Kato-Klutke (no mochi this time) went from the Visitor Industry Charity Walk to Family Flower Farms to pick up some flowers for Daphne McClure (she even had some Elvrine Chow lei for Mother’s Day).
Sasha Figueira of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank’s EBT program said they just got the OK to do EBT at the Kukui Grove Monday Markets starting in June.
OK, time to go check out the electric charging station.
