LIHU‘E – Deputy County Attorney Justin Kollar has been named a member of the Hawai‘i Highway Safety Council.
Kollar was nominated by Gov. Neil Abercrombie earlier this year and was confirmed to the unpaid posting by the full Senate last month. He was sworn in on May 14 and joins retired Kaua‘i Police Department Lt. Mark Scribner as the island’s second representative to advise the governor on matters relating to the field of highway safety.
“I am humbled to have been nominated by Gov. Abercrombie and grateful for the support of our Senate and the Department of Transportation in this undertaking,” Kollar said. “Making our highways safer is important to me. Our job won’t be finished until injuries and fatalities on our roads are zero.”
Kollar’s term with the Hawai‘i Highway Safety Council will expire on June 30, 2016.
Kollar is also a member of the Hawai‘i Supreme Court Board of Examiners and the Access to Justice Commission’s Subcommittee on Self-Representation.
