LIHUE – The 34th annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk is scheduled for today starting at 7 a.m.
To accommodate the event, the Kauai Police Department will close off Rice Street, from Eiwa Street to Hoolako Street, for about 45 minutes starting at 6:45 a.m. Umi Street will also be closed from about 6:45 a.m. until the event is over, according to a county news release.
The 2.9 mile course will begin at the Historic County Building, head down Rice Street, turn left onto Hoolako Street, up to Kaana Street, then head left on Kapule Highway, left on Ahukini Road and a left onto Umi Street, ending at the Historic County Building.
Motorists will need to seek alternate routes to get to their destinations during the walk.
