The public is invited to the National Train Day Celebration hosted by the Grove Farm museum Saturday at the Haleko Road train yard.
Free train rides on steam-powered locomotives will roll on the original Lihu‘e Plantation locomotive Right-of-Way. Paulo, Hawai‘i’s oldest operating plantation locomotive, and Wainiha, Hawai‘i’s last steam sugar cane train, will be seen.
People will also have the opportunity to become a founding “Friends of Waioli” member by the Grove Farm museum to enjoy the many benefits which go along with supporting the ongoing preservation and conservation efforts of Waioli Corp.
