Marci Millett, president-elect for the Rotary Club of Po‘ipu Beach, and Roberta Charles, past president of the Po‘ipu Rotary, already have tickets for the Kaua‘i Lifeguards Association Second Wave Celebration.
Marci, who also chaired the Nawiliwili Yacht Club’s Father’s Day Fishing Contest, said Willie K., Henry Kapono, Kalapana, John Cruz and Andy Bumatai are on tap for the Oct. 7 event at Kilohana which has been billed as “Hawai‘i Superstar Sunday!” for those 21 years and older.
Roberta (she wants to do more movies in the park at Po‘ipu) said she’s always had water safety as a priority and there is a KLA/Rotary Club prize donation which is a trip for four to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies, plus $2,000 spending money.
The KLA people have been busy with Dr. Monty Downs, getting help from the U.S. Coast Guard at the Wilcox Health Kids Summer Fest Saturday, too.
We’ll wait until Andy Melamed comes up with more details on this extravaganza, and in the meantime, visit wwwkauailifeguards.org for more information.
