HANAMA‘ULU – A house fire in Hanama‘ulu this morning resulted in $500,000 in damages, according to fire officials in a county news release.
Firefighters were alerted of the blaze at 10:50 a.m. and arrived on scene within five minutes to find the six-bedroom home on Palikea Street fully engulfed in flames.
Engines 2 and 8, along with Truck 2 and Rescue 3 personnel, had the fire deemed under control by 11:03 a.m. and fully extinguished by 11:20 a.m.
No one was injured in the fire and no other structures were threatened, despite the close proximity of neighboring homes.
Fire inspectors remain on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
The family who occupied the home is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
