Manny’s Sports closed its Men’s 18 and Over basketball league season on a winning note Tuesday night at the Bernice Hundley Gym in Kapa‘a.
Working behind balanced scoring from the team, Manny’s Sports handed the Kings its first season loss, 49-48 despite Tab Matsumoto firing a game-high 20 points and Trent Thompson adding 13 points.
In contrast, Manny’s top scorer, Spam Lindsey netted nine points followed by Kaleo Perez and Junnel Calpito adding eight points apiece.
The Kings, holding a 13-12 lead at the end of the opening quarter, faltered in the second period, ending the half with a 22-19 deficit and after struggling through the third period, came back with an 18-7 scoring flurry over Manny’s Sports, but coming up short at the buzzer.
The Kings, with an 8-1 record, tied the SupaStars in the league final standings, the Kings getting the advantage after beating the SupaStars in the head-to-head tie-breaker.
With the win, Manny’s Sports is in a 5-4 tie with the Kaua‘i Ballers and G.E.K., G.E.K. getting the advantage after beating both the Kaua‘i Ballers and Manny’s Sports in the head-to-head tie-breaker.

Ian Clements posted the high score of the night, netting 21 points to lead the Ramblas to a 65-45 win over Notorious in the nightcap which featured the battle of the three-balls.
Jerek Barcelona and Schyler Arakaki fired 16 and 12 points, respectively in the Ramblas’ win while Allen Calumag topped the Notorious effort on 17 points followed by Silas Tacsiat finishing with 11 points, including a trio of bombs launched from outside the three-point arc.
Clements fired off three treys toward his 21 points while Barcelona and Arakaki each launched a pair of treys, the Ramblas firing off nine treys in the Ramblas’ win. Jed Balmidiano and Talon Tabat each netted a trey in the victory.
Notorious finished the night with six three-balls, Cheeko Calixtero, Calumag and Travis Aguinaldo adding treys behind Tacsiat’s trio.
Both Notorious and Ramblas closed off their season, the Ramblas finishing in seventh place below Tropang-L, both teams finishing with a 4-5 win-loss record, but Tropang-L getting the nod for sixth place after winning the Ramblas in the head-to-head tie-breaker.
Hanakila (3-6), Notorious (2-7) and Westside Pride (1-8) round out the league standings.
