Chet Dal Santo is named new district governor for Rotary
HONOLULU — Chester “Chet” Dal Santo has succeeded Laurie Yoshida as the new district governor of Rotary District 5000, which is made up of 48 clubs on Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Mau‘i and the Big Island.
Dal Santo served as president of the Hawai‘i Kai Rotary Club and was the district level assistant governor for four years. He has been in Rotary since 2000.
He is the branch manager for Platinum Mortgage Partners in Hawai‘i Kai and has been in the mortgage business since 1994. Prior to the mortgage business, he was the representative and manager for a company that handled computer systems for hotels in Hawai‘i and the Far East.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force in Japan, Dal Santo came to the Hawaiian Islands in 1968. He is married to fellow Rotary member, Judy Jakobovits. The Jakobovits has two children and Chet and Judy share two grandchildren.
Last year, the Rotary clubs completed more than 1,100 service projects.
UHA names Lance Kaneshiro chief operating officer
HONOLULU — UHA, a Hawai‘i health plan, has named Lance Kaneshiro senior vice president and chief operating officer, effective July 1.
A 13-year veteran of the company, Kaneshiro served as senior vice president and chief sales officer since 2009, and was instrumental in UHA’s 57 percent membership growth since June 2010. His role has been expanded to include oversight of customer service in addition to his current role in business development.
The Honolulu resident received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Hawai‘i. He is actively involved in the community and supports the Make a Wish Foundation and the Hawai‘i Arts Alliance.
