LIHU‘E — A Kekaha woman pleaded no contest to felony second-degree theft Thursday in 5th Circuit Court. Michelle Marie Freitas, 39, of Kekaha, was arrested on two counts of second-degree theft last March.
The charges were for unauthorized control over a Louis Vuitton bag the previous December.
The state was represented by County Deputy Public Defender Rebecca Vogt. She said the bag and contents were estimated in value exceeding $300 making it two felony counts.
Freitas is represented by State Deputy Public Defender Stephanie Sato. She will present a motion for a deferral of sentencing at the Oct. 12 hearing with Chief Judge Randal Valenciano presiding.
