Summer Woolsey
Summer Kamaolipua Woolsey of Anahola, Kauai and Waimanalo, Oahu passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on July, 11, 2012 at the age of 57. She was born on March 10, 1955 on Oahu. She was a tour driver for Roberts Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hale Kanila Woolsey, Sr.
She is survived by companion; Nalani Kaneakua; mother, Kuuipo Woolsey; brother, Hale Kanila (Pat) Woosley Jr.; nieces, Kona Woolsey and Keliana (Alan) Licup and nephew Hale Kanila Woolsey III. Hanai children, Kapua, Keoua and Moku Kaneakua, and hanai grandchildren, Zoey, Zephen and Kanahawele Kaneakua.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday August 12, 2012 at Anahola beach park. Starting with a “paddle out” at 10 a.m. at “unreals” and memorial service at 11 a.m.

Florence Miyashiro
Florence Kazuko Miyashiro of Kapa‘a, Kaua‘i died on July 14, 2012, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 84. She was born August 10, 1927, in Sacramento, Calif. She was a teacher with Kaua‘i High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Miyashiro; brother, Tamotsu (George) Nagano; and sister-in-law, Natsuyo Nagano.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Rose Tamura) Miyashiro of Connecticut; two daughters, Stephanie Miyashiro of California and Laura L. Miyashiro of Kaua‘i; a brother, Michael (Beverly) Nagano of Lihu‘e; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawa‘i.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Service will begin at 10 a.m.
Family suggests casual attire and flowers be omitted.

Bryant Hironaka
Bryant Makoto Hironaka of Kalaheo passed away on July 23, 2012, at Queens Medical Center in O‘ahu at the age of 59.
Born in Waimea, Kaua‘i on June 27, 1953, he was an avid fisherman with the Port Allen Fishing Club at Port Allen Small Boat Harbor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Masayuki Hironaka.
He is survived by his mother, Satoko Hironaka, Kalaheo; sister, Dawn Nakata (Keith Olson) of Kalaheo and Cook, Minn; nephew, Ryan Nakata (Lamarrie Nerpio), Hanapepe; numerous cousins and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Waimea Higashi Hongwanji. Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m.
Service to follow at 4 p.m. A celebration dinner reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Port Allen Fishing Club House located at the Port Allen Small Boat Harbor.
The family suggests casual attire and flowers be omitted.

Manuela Domenden
Manuela Agballog Domenden of Kealia, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on July 10, 2012 at the age of 89 at Queens Medical Center, O’ahu. She was born on May 22, 1923 in Bimmanga, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She was a homemaker, seamtress and carehome operator for many years.
Preceded in death by: parents, Geronimo and Josefa Agballog; husband, Benny Domenden; sister, Margarita Somera.
Survived by: sons, Francisco (Rosaly) Domenden, Lihu’e; Alejandro (Rosaline) Domenden, Kapa’a; daughter, Melinda (George) Santhany, O’ahu; grandchildren, Justin (Irene) Michaud, Christine (Rey) Grande-Michaud, Joscelynn (Gino) Jarquio, Melody Domenden, Allison Domenden, Chantel Domenden, Kristen Domenden Santhany, Nathaniel Domenden Santhany, Gabriel Domenden Santhany; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa.
Visitation is at 8:30 a.m. Service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Cemetery. Aloha attire requested.

Alan Muraoka
Alan Tadashi Muraoka of Kalaheo, Kauai died on August 3, 2012 at the age of 60.
Born on January 3, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was a District Conservationist at East &West Kauai Soil and Water Conservation.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Kiyomi Muraoka; one daughter, Liane Tsukie Muraoka; and one brother, John (Joy) Muraoka.
Private services will be held.

Helen Martin Ferreira
Helen Martin Ferreira of Kalaheo died on July 26, 2012 at the age of 77. Born on April 24, 1935, she retired from the state of Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Alfred James (Freddie) Ferreira and her parents Joe and Consuelo Martin.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Sharon Ann (Clifton) Hashimoto and Gayle (Alan) Konishi; son, Eliott Ferreira; grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan and Ross Konishi. She is also survived by her brother, Antone (Marilou) Martin of Spokane, Washington.
Private services were held.

Eryn O’Shaugnessey
Eryn “Cabby” Jessica O’Shaughnessy of Kapahi, Kauai passed away on August 4, 2012 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 23.
She was a waitress at Scotty’s Beachside BBQ.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert A. O’Shaughnessy.
She is survived by her parents, Kevin and Sandi O’Shaughnessy of Kapahi, Kauai; paternal grandmother, Carol O’Shaughnessy of Lake Tahoe, California; maternal grandparents, Michael and Helaine Perel, Eleele of Kauai; numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
There will be a celebration of her life on Friday August 10, 2012 at Kealia Beach at 4:30 p.m. till pau.

Toraichi Marugame
Toraichi James Marugame of Lihue, Hawaii, died on July 12, 2012 at Garden Island Healthcare at the age of 93. He was born on October 17, 1918 in Koloa, Hawaii. He was a driver and tour guide with Kauai Petroleum and Kauai Island Tours.
Preceded in death by his wife, Chiyomi Kuboyama Marugame; parents Nikichi and Chika Marugame; five brothers, Tokuichi Marugame, Jisuo Tom Marugame, Ryoichi Harry Marugame, Shoichi Slim Marugame, and Toshi Fujihara; and four sisters, Tsuna Fujihara, Yoshino Marugame, Mitsuyo Lemon, and Sueno Miyazaki.
He is survived by his two sons, Clyde (Eloise) Marugame and Lance (Aileen) Marugame, both of Honolulu; three daughters, Sharon (Clarence) S. Nonaka, Coleen (Stanley) Morinaka, and Nan (Leroy) Sakaguchi, all of Lihue; ten grandchildren, Jolene Ching of Honolulu, Renee Marugame of Honolulu, Kristi Myers of Lihue, Jodi Gusman of Lihue, Deann Sakaguchi of Hanapepe, Stanley Morinaka Jr. of Lihue, Staci Rosa of Kapaa, Ryan Sakaguchi of Honolulu, Troy Sakaguchi of Lihue, and Cori Tanimura of Honolulu; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Lihue Missionary Church. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Private Interment.

Felicidad Quel
Felicidad Bueno Quel of Hanama‘ulu died at home on July 28, 2012, at the age of 92. She was born in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on May 9, 1920, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her son, Henry Quel, and great-granddaughter, Anjannette Duyanen, parents, Crispolo and Geromine Bueno.
She is survived by her husband, Luis Quel of Hanama’ulu; one son, Pacifico “Pat” (Clementine) Quel of Hanama‘ulu; two daughters, Elsie Ollado of California and Norma Vida of California; 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Quel family with arrangements.
G. Philip Bickel
G. Philip Bickel of Lihue died on August 3, 2012, at the age of 86 at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. He was born on April 10, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy (1950-53), followed by a 30-year career in 3M Company in Japan and Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Warren Bickel.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Bickel; daughters, Lindsay (Greg) Kamm of Lihue, and Cinthia (Bill) Walker of Massachusetts; brother, Alan (Doris) Bickel of Pennsylvania; sister, Elizabeth Tunilo of Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihue, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Rotary Club of Poipu or St. Michael’s Endowment Fund.
Battie Domingsel
Battie “Takanini” L. Domingsel of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on August 1, 2012 at her residence in Lihue at the age of 61. Born on October 9, 1950 in Honolulu, Oahu, she was a meal manager with KEO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Keala.
She is survived by her husband, Benito “Ben” Domingsel; sons, George (Berta Heath) Keala, Keala Domingsel, Kawika Domingsel; daughter, Haunani Domingsel; grandchildren, Piilani (Marleto Tomas) Keala, Kaleo Keala; great-grandchildren, Zaeden Keala-Tomas; sisters, Mary Keala, Napua Thatcher; brother, John (Judy) Keala; numerous aunties and uncles, nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of her life on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel.
Visitation at 5:30 p.m. Service at 6:30 p.m. Family suggests casual attire.
