PRINCEVILLE — A sold-out crowd attended the Kaua‘i’s Got Talent show sponsored by the Church of the Pacific recently.
The show, described as “a great hit showcasing 19 acts from the ages of 5 to 21,” featured the talents of an aerialist, a rock band and many singers, dancers, violinists and pianists, according to a news release from the Church of the Pacific.
North Shore’s 14-year-old singer, Madison, opened the July 28 event with two numbers and Thomas, host of KKCR’s Jungle Jukebox, emceed. Judges were Steve Bachinoff, Koko Kanealii, Randy Leonard and Joyce Anglemyer.
The top winners were Alessia Sanchez, Zeltyha Mata and Hailey Murphy, who took home prizes of $300, $200 and $100, respectively.
Kaua‘i’s Got Talent was created as a fun community family event to showcase Kaua‘i’s young talent, with any proceeds going to the Church of the Pacific’s Outreach Ministries, according to the news release.
The event was taped by Hoike Community Television.
Organizers are already starting to plan next year’s event.
