Aug. 12 is the deadline for entries into the Kaua‘i High School Foundation third annual fundraiser golf tournament.
The tournament will play with a three-person team format on Aug. 25 at the Wailua Golf Course with a 6 a.m. registration and a 7 a.m. shotgun start.
The three-person team format will be a 1-2 Best Ball with one Best Ball on par 3 and par 5 holes and two Best Balls on par 4 holes.
Handicap is a maximum of 28 for men and 36 for females, based on the month application is submitted.
There will be two Hole-in-One prizes, one being a 2012 Toyota automobile sponsored by Kaua‘i Toyota and the second being a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by Wayne Hori, Kaua‘i High School Class of 1969 in memory of Janice Hori, Kaua‘i Class of 1970.
The $10,000 award will be split $5,000 to the winner and $5,000 to the Kaua‘i High School Foundation.
Entry fee is $375 for one three-person team. For holders of a Wailua Golf Course monthly card for August 2012, fees may be reduced by $20 per person.
Payment must be received by Aug. 12 with checks made payable to the Kaua‘i High School Foundation and mailed to Kaua‘i High School Foundation, c/o Fred Morinaka, 1242 Aupupu Pl., Kailua, HI 96734.
Following the Aug. 12 deadline, all applications will be honored on a first come, first served basis.
Sponsorships for the fundraising tournament are also available at a Platinum level for $1,500 which includes two three-person team fees and recognition at the golf course and awards banquet which follows the tournament at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.
A Gold sponsorship is $750 and includes one three-person team fees and recognition at the golf course and awards banquet.
Participating golfers are eligible for the banquet dinner and awards which include Team Awards, a special prize for All-Alumni Team, Closest-to-the Hole winners and numerous door prizes.
The Kaua‘i High School Foundation is dedicated to serving the students of Kaua‘i’s first high school by promoting scholarship, providing financial support for educational programs and capital improvement projects, and sponsoring worthy activities to advance the school.
The Foundation is supported by donor programs such as the annual golf tournament and gifts from alumni, friends and corporate benefactors.
The nonprofit public charity, established in November 2008, is led by its board of directors including Gary Yamamoto, president; Esperanza Cadavona, vice president; Roy Kawamura, treasurer; Norman Funamura, secretary; and directors Myron Dobashi, Jane Ozaki, Leland Tottori, Milton Valera, Teresa Caires and Eric Shinseki.
David Ishii is the honorary chair of the tournament.
