Nominations for the Rotary Clubs of Kaua‘i annual Humanitarian Awards program are currently being accepted, said Dick Olsen, Rotary Kaua‘i Assistant District Governor.
Nominations of individuals working in the following categories including Firefighter, Police Officer, Water Safety Officer, Healthcare Worker, Social Worker and Homeless Care Worker are being sought, states a Rotary release.
“The Rotary Clubs on Kaua‘i would like to honor those people who are ‘working in the trenches’ during this Rotary year,” Olsen said in an email.
“The six clubs on Kaua‘i, Hanalei Bay, Kapa‘a, Kalepa Sunrise, Kaua‘i, Po‘ipu Beach and West Kaua‘i, have partnered to recognize individuals in these six categories and will honor those selected during a dinner to be held on Oct. 18 at the Courtyard by Marriott Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach in Kapa‘a.”
Criteria and nomination forms are available at Business Support Services in Kapa‘a, Jim Saylor Jewelers in Kapa‘a, in the lobby of the Lihu‘e Plantation Building and online at www.rotaryd5000.org/KauaiClubs.
Deadline for nominations is Oct. 5 and nominations must include the completed nomination form and an essay of not more than 250 words describing why the nominee should be selected.
The Rotary Clubs are looking for individuals who are well-grounded in areas of his or her assignment, deal with problems and conflicts professionally, contribute to colleagues’ growth and development, dedicated to his or her field of work, and show genuine aloha for those in which they serve.
Completed nominations must be mailed to Rotary Humanitarian Awards, P.O. Box 108, Lihu‘e, Hawai‘i 96766, or scanned and emailed to kauai.sailor@gmail.com.
