LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i’s golf courses will be featured during the presentation of “Global Golf Adventure — Kaua‘i” by NBC Sports prior to the network’s live third round coverage of the World Challenge presented by Northwestern Mutual.
The program is scheduled to air at 2:30 p.m., ET, Saturday and is presented by Avis and produced and hosted by NBC Sports and Golf Channel analyst Mark Rolfing, states a Global Golf release.
“In all the world, there is no place like the island of Kaua‘i,” Rolfing said in the release. “It is a land of breathtaking contrasts, big and bold, yet at the same time, small and charming. And when it comes to golf, you’ll see that nearly everything on Hawai‘i’s oldest island is actually new.”
For the show, Rolfing travelled to Kaua‘i, exploring the Garden Island and several of its top golf destinations including the Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course, Kaua‘i Lagoons, Puakea Golf Course, the Prince Course at Princeville Golf Club, and the Makai Golf Club.
The episode also includes a review of some of the best performances of the 2012 PGA Tour season and a look at the match, which turned the tide during this year’s Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club, which was won by Europe.
“2012 has been an incredible year in golf, culminating with the Ryder Cup which was truly one of the greatest sporting events I have ever witnessed,” Rolfing said. “I decided we should cap off the year in style on Global Golf Adventure with a trip to one of the most spectacular spots on earth — the island of Kaua‘i.”
