Lindsey Carineo
Lindsey Lehua Carineo Sr. of Koloa, Kauai, died on October 26, 2012 at Home at the age of 62. Born on May 30, 1950, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a retired Carpenter with Shoi Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Lucy Carineo; brothers, David “Kedo” Carineo, Edwin Carineo (infant), and Alvin Carineo; and sister, Lynette Carineo.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Silva Carineo of Koloa; son, Lindsey (Corinna Vasconcelles) Carineo Jr. of Koloa; daughter, Chelse (Lopaka Bukoski) Carineo of Koloa; brothers, Frank (Lei) Carineo Jr. of Hanapepe, Jerry (Lenora) Carineo of Hanamaulu, Edwin Carineo of Omao, and Ricky (Nadine) Carineo of Kalaheo; sisters, Yvonne Carineo of Hilo, Lorraine (Daniel) Manus of Hanapepe, Rose (Ritchie) Hosaka of Waimea, Jo-Ann Lopez of Hilo, Joan Olive of Hilo, Frances Carineo of Hilo, and Laverne Carineo of Missouri; and two grandchildren, Landon Bukoski, and Alyssa Vasconcelles-Carineo.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa. Visitation is from 8:30 am to 9:45 am, followed by 10:00 Mass.
Family suggests casual attire.

Shane Kaiana Bender
Shane Kaiana Bender of Kapaa, Kauai, died on October 25, 2012 at Queen’s Hospital at the age of 52. Born on January 18, 1960, in Lihue, Kauai, he was a Laborer with AIS Construction Co.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Bender.
He is survived by his mother, MaryAnn Bender; brothers, Mark Veris (TJ Love) Bender of San Antonio, Texas, and Kent Kimo Bender of Oceanview, HI; sister, Donna Kuulei (Roy ) Ho of Kapaa, HI; numerous aunts, nephews, cousins, grandniece, and grandnephews; and companion, Michele Valenti.

Roseanna ‘Nadoza’ Fontecha
Roseanna “Nadoza” Fontecha of San Diego, California passed away on September 22, 2012 at her home in San Diego at the age of 62. Born on July 12, 1950 in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was a sales clerk for the Navy Exchange in San Diego as well as various other jobs throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita “Villaros” Nadoza and Bernaldo “Benny” Nadoza.
She is survived by her husband, Percival “Pepe” Fontecha; daughter, Leanne Peral Fontecha; son, Percival “Percy Jr.” Fontecha; sisters, Jeraldine Joyce Masumoto (Richard); brothers, Leonard Glenn Nadoza, Sidney Roy Nadoza; and Sharon Sue Kahunani Lopez (Wayne); and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Scattering of ashes will be held on a later date.
Family will be having a luncheon gathering at the residence of Wayne and Sharon Lopez, 4849 Lae Rd. Kalaheo, on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:30am. Casual attire is requested.
Dennis Eugene Simao
Dennis Eugene Simao “Migito” of Eleele, Kauai, died on October 26, 2012 at Garden Island Health Care at the age of 68. Born on May 31, 1944, in Eleele, Kauai, he was a Utility Truck Driver with McBryde Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy (Charles) Kaliloa of Kekaha; brother, George (Margaret) Simao of Eleele; sisters, Stella (Francis) Mission of Makaweli, and Patricia Calves of Puhi; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on November 10, 2012 at Salt Pond Beach Park – Main Pavillion. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 noon, service at 11 am. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Hawaiian Cemetery.

William Kaohi
William Kapaialani Kaohi died peacefully at his home in Eleele on October 28, 2012 at the age of 83. Born on January 24, 1929, in Hanapepe, Kauai he was a retired Operations Manager with Young Brothers, Ltd.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rachel Kaohi.
He is survived by his wife Miyoko Kaohi, son Jeffrey Kaohi, daughters Bonnie (Dexter) Shimatsu and Marilyn (Russell) Hasegawa, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. One of seventeen children, he is also survived by siblings Dudie Kaohi, Mercedes (William) Ching, Clarence (Lily) Kaohi, Betty (Howell) Kaleohano, Arlene (Edmund) Naholoholo and Ronald (Margie) Kaohi.
A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church, 3418 Hanapepe Road, Hanapepe, Kauai. Visitation 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Service 10:00 a.m. Family suggests casual attire. Private scattering of ashes to be held at a later date.

Beatrice Mary Souza
Beatrice Mary Souza of Cave Junction, Oregon died Monday, October 29, 2012, at age 67 in Grants Pass, Oregon.
She is survived by her sister, Henrietta Lee (Allen), of Cave Junction; brothers, William Souza of Kailua, Hawaii, Edward Souza (Pam) of Hilo, Hawaii, and Peter Souza (Lien) of Windsor, California; and 12 nieces and nephews.
A mass will be conducted at St Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church in Cave Junction on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., with a gathering to follow. Her ashes will be sent home to Hawaii where her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, will conduct a ceremony at sea.

Ricarte Tumacder
Ricarte “Ricky” Tumacder of Hanamaulu passed away at Tripler Army Hospital on November 1, 2012 at the age of 83. He was born in Hanamaulu on March 24, 1929, retired from the State of Hawaii, Department of Education at Hale Hauoli, and was also a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Emilia Tumacder; children, Robert Tumacder of Anchorage, Alaska, Ernest (Michelle) Tumacder of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Ricarte Tumacder Jr. of Naha, Okinawa, Deborah (James) Tumacder-Pickering of Sherwood, Arkansas, Sandra Sagisi Tumacder (Kendall) Moser of Honolulu, Hawaii, Melaney (Larry) Ha’o of Lihue, Marylyn (Brad) Lee of Honolulu, Hawaii, James (Janet Hatmaker) Bergado of Sevierville, Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dominador Tomacder; sister, Trining Fernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe at 2:00 p.m.

Yutaka Matsumura
Yutaka Matsumura of Lihue passed away at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on November 3, 2012, at the age of 91. He was born in Huleia, Kauai on November 16, 1920, and retired from Kauai Commercial and also was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iso and Toyo Matsumura; brothers, Mamoru and Isao “Buster”; and sister, Beatrice Shibata.
He is survived by his wife, Satsuki Matsumura; children, Rene (Robert) Kansaku of Torrance, California, Collis (Thomas) Culbertson of Lihue, Gordon Matsumura of Eleele; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; sister, Bernice Zenigami of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at The Aloha Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 12:00 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested.

Arthur “Buzzy” Russ Ferreira of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on October 19, 2012 at his home in Kapaa at the age of 65. Born on December 29, 1946 in Honolulu, Oahu, he was retired from Bronco Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Grace “Jackie” Kamai.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Kahaunaele-Ferreira; daughters, Tiare (Alika) Richards, Makaleka Ferreira, Mahie Ferreira, and Maluhia Ferreira; sisters, Penny (Ken) Puaa, Isabelle (Hollis) Peters, and Alice Vinton; brothers, Michael (Ipo) Ferreira, and Gilbert Ferreira Kahele; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1707-A Palolo Ave, Honolulu, Oahu, starting at 12:00 pm until finished, and again on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Anahola Beach Park in Anahola, Kauai starting at 12:00 pm until finished.
Scattering of ashes will be held privately.

Rodolfo Pena
Rodolfo Bautista Pena of Puhi Kauai, Hawaii passed away on October 31, 2012 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. Born on April 19, 1941 in San Manuel Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a heavy equipment operator for Lihue Plantation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo & Bibiana Pena; sisters, Lina Galamgam, Perfecta Larican.
He is survived by his wife, Rizalyn Pena, Puhi; son, Orlando (Liberty) Pena, Puhi; daughters, Marcelina (Limuel) Medina, Kaumakani, Marilou (Rizalde) Gasmen, Honolulu, Amalia (Virgilio) Andres, Seattle, Washington, Jessica”Tessie” (Noel) Follante, Seattle, Washington; sisters, Cirila (Miguel) Bermisa, Philippines, Cresencia (Eddie) Flores, Philippines; brother, Florencio Pena, Hanamaulu; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lihue.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.; burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery.
