HANAPEPE — The Department of Water has issued a water conservation request for customers in the Hanapepe and ‘Ele‘ele areas effective Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to a county press release. This will allow work crews to tie-in a replacement pipeline to a segment of the Hanapepe Valley transmission line.
While the work is being done, customers in the affected and surrounding areas are urged to conserve water and restrict water consumption to essential uses. These measures may prevent the depletion of the limited water supply.
Essential needs include cooking, bathing and toilet flushing.
Residents are asked to notify their family, friends and neighbors who will be affected by the conservation request.
The Department of Water apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks affected customers for their patience and cooperation as improvements to DOW’s aging infrastructure continue.
