Rebecca Maka
Rebecca Kapoli Kaaumoana Maka of Haena passed away at home on October 12, 2012, at the age of 76. She was born in Hanalei on September 8, 1936, and retired as a chambermaid with various hotels on the north shore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Kuaihealani Maka Sr.; daughter, Henrietta Jana Alana Bond; daughter-in-laws, Lelie Annette Maka, Linda Ku’uleiakahelelani Kanahele,; and parents, William Hulihonua Kaaumoana and Jane Lima.
She is survived by four sons, Murphy “Bobo”, Jacob, Keith “Fetta” and Sherman; hanai daughter, Jolly Ann Mahuiki (Greg); hanai son, Ed Hayes; brother, Harry (Barbara) Kaaumoana Sr.; sister, Hannah Kalaione Kaaumoana Lopes Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Kyra, Liana, Ashlee, Jacob and Mohala; 10 great-grandchildren, Kulani, Nai’a, Kaui, Ala, Kila, Murphy III, Keha, Konane, Ashton and Kayzia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Wai’oli Hui’ia Church in Hanalei at 3:00 p.m. Scattering of her cremains to follow at Hanalei pier with a paddle out.

Yutaka Matsumura
Yutaka Matsumura of Lihue passed away at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on November 3, 2012, at the age of 91. He was born in Huleia, Kauai on November 16, 1920, and retired from Kauai Commercial and also was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iso and Toyo Matsumura; brothers, Mamoru and Isao “Buster”; and sister, Beatrice Shibata.
He is survived by his wife, Satsuki Matsumura; children, Rene (Robert) Kansaku of Torrance, California, Collis (Thomas) Culbertson of Lihue, Gordon Matsumura of Eleele; 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; sister, Bernice Zenigami of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at The Aloha Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m and services celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 12:00 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested.

Sharon Pomroy
Sharon Ann Mapuana Pomroy of Anahola, Kauai, Hawai‘i passed away on October 23, 2012 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 63. Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu on October 10, 1949, she was a sole proprietor of Lehua Mamo Farm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Irmalee Pomroy.
She is survived by her brother, Paul (Noelani) Pomroy, Lihue; sister, Onaona (Kepa) Maly, Honolulu, and numerous aunties & uncles, nieces, nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 12:00 noon at “Lehua Mamo Flower Farm” in Anahola, 4561 Hokualele Road, Island of Kauai.

Jean Marie Wetzel Stevenson of Princeville passed away at home on November 6, 2012 at the age of 64. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 14, 1948, and was a Real Estate agent with Keller Williams Realty.
She is survived by loving family and friends.

Prudencio Tacata Sr.
Prudencio Menor Tacata Sr. of Hanamaulu died at Garden Island Health Care on October 11, 2012, at the age of 76. He was born in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on October 6, 1936, and retired from Sizzlers Restaurant as a utility maintenance.
He is survived by his wife, Presentacion Tacata of Hanamaulu; six children, Imelda (Oliver) Navalta, Elsa (Edison) Lucas, Phoebe (Victor) Devera, Mary Jane (Ronald) Olea, James (Hilda) Tacata, Prudencio (Jackie) Tacata Jr.; brother, Crispin (Betsy) Tacata; 11 grandchildren, Tommy David (Elyse) Navalta, John Tacata, Patrick Tacata, Princess Tacata, Alyssa Olea, Ron Olea, Sarit Tacata, Krystelle Tacata, Peyton Tacata, Jocelynne Devera, Joshua Devera; 2 great-grandchildren, Cannan Navalta and Noah Navalta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihue Cemetery.

Mitsuko Saito
Mitsuko Saito of Hilo, Hawaii (formerly of Papaikou, Hawaii) passed away on October 23, 2012 at her residence at age of 94. Born on December 12, 1917, in Hilo, she was a retired secretary from the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Hilo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Saito.
She is survived by her daughters, Myrna (Stanley) Watanabe of Hilo, Sandra (James) Bullock of Georgetown, California, Lorna (Earl) Nishiguchi of Lihue, Kauai; son, George Saito of Papaikou; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 9:00 am to 10:00 am; celebration of life service will begin at 10:00 am.
Family requests casual attire and that no flowers be received at this time.

Robert Saladaga Sr.
Robert Earl Kailiala Saladaga Sr. of Lihue, Kauai passed away on November 1, 2012 at the Hilo Medical Center at the age of 76. Born in Wailua, Kauai on June 4, 1936, he was a retired technical sergeant and distinguished himself by meritorious service as an aerospace control and warning system technician for the Hawaii Air National Guard.
He is survived by his four daughters, Earlene (Philip) Wilson of Oahu, Nadine (Jesse) Quides of Vallejo, California, Charlene (Dean) Sacramed of Kapaa, and Raeleen (Salvador) Salinas of South Carolina; son, Robert Saladaga, Jr. of Hilo; six sisters, Augusta “Gussie” Shumacher of Lihue, Theresa Yoshioka of Lihue, Beatrice “Maui” Miller of Alabama, Roberta “Maile” Consibog of Waianae, Gladys “Lani” Costa-Ayres of Koloa, and Juanita Freeman of Washington; brother, George Saladaga of New Jersey; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit the family from 9:30 am – 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Kauai Veterans Center; a celebration of his life will begin at 10:30 am with military honors to follow.
