Gilbert V. Tabayoyon Sr.
Gilbert “Gil” V. Tabayoyon Sr. died on July 10, 2012 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 76. Born on Aug 15, 1936 on Kauai, he was a glass and screen (glazier) specialist by trade.
He is survived by his daughter, Buffy G. Tabayoyon; his sister, Patricia Momilani Yamashiro, both of Kapahi; aunt, Rosalinda SanMiguel of Kaimuki, Oahu; grandchildren, Brandie-Corley LiAnne, Kaylen-Cody, Wayson-Ray, Alika, Harley-Rose Hi’ilei, Randi Kehaulani, Riley Kaulana, Hunter Lawaisa, and Makani Kai; nephews, Rick & Kimo Doepping of San Pedro, CA, Russel Kaleo and Makana Yamashiro.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at St. Catherines Church in Kapaa at 9:30am with service following at 10:30am. His remains will be inurned at a later date. Pupu’s will be served during visitation.
Casual attire is requested.
Cremation and arrangements were made by Bunkers Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Charles A. Eldon
Charles A. “Bud” Eldon died in Corvallis, Oregon on September 28, 2012.
He was born in 1926 in Tacoma, Washington but raised on Kauai at McBryde’s New Mill Camp. He was an engineer and executive for Hewlett-Packard until he retired in March, 1990. He also served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy “Dot” Eldon; and brother, Scott.
He is survived by his wife Betty; children, Tony (Anita), Kay, Doug (Dorry), and Jim; and 7 grandchildren.
There will be no memorial services; his ashes will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Hawaii.
Robert E. Alesna
Robert E. Alesna, 74, died at his home in Union City, California. Born in Waimea, Kauai on February 22, 1938, hee served in the U.S Air Force for 7 years and was employed by NASA as inspector of astronaut space suits, Alameda Naval Base and Fremont School District.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Constancio Alesna of Kekaha.
He is survived by his daughter, Marla Bailey (Kevin); sons Robert John and Robert James; 3 grandsons; 1 great-grandson; brother, Chris “Sonny” (Lorraine); and numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 2nd at Chapel for the Roses in Fremont, California. Inurnment will be at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Taevy Kawena Moises
Taevy Kawena Moises of Waimea, Kauai, died on October 27, 2012 at KVMH. She was born on October 27, 2012.
She is survived by her parents, Brandon Moises and Brandi Hori-Moises; brother, Jeydon Moises; and sister, Braeanna Moises, all of Waimea; grandparents, Larry and Marlene Moises, and Ainsley and Ginny Hori; great-grandparents, Albert and Dorothy Moura, and Doc and Mitzi Hori; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Private services were held.

Lena Puni Mendonca
Lena Puni Mendonca of Eleele, Kauai, died on October 26, 2012 at Hale Kupuna at the age of 89. Born on September 30, 1923, in Honolulu, she was a retired Bank Teller with First Hawaiian Bank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Mendonca.
She is survived by her son, Paul Kaopua of Kailua; daughter, Lethalia Jones of Eleele; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four sisters.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Kalaheo Ward Latter-Day Saints church. Visitation is from 9 am to 10 am, service begins at 10 am. Burial to follow at the Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Family suggests casual attire and flowers are open.
