Billy DeCosta (Happy New Year!) wanted to know how to balance the opening of Kalawai Pinto baseball with the opening of the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation swimming season, both taking place at the same time at different parts of the island.

Billy made it to KIF soccer after the Pinto festivities and added flavor to the happenings with his banter.
Kudos to Coach Billy Brown and his Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics ‘ohana on doing a great job with the KIF swim meet (more records fall!), and of course, it wouldn’t be swimming if Coach Orlando “O” Anaya didn’t make an appearance. It’s great to see such swimming greats look over the accomplishments of our KIF swimmers.
Ross Shimabukuro was trying to get to his Kaua‘i High wrestling scrimmage with Paul Zina officiating and get to soccer on time.
We can’t forget Yukie DeSilva who held down the fort at the KIF paddling regatta, and Freckles Smith doing his rounds. What are we going to do next week when KIF wrestling starts?
Happy New Year, Kaua‘i! Stay safe!
