LIHU‘E — The medical call button saved the man’s life when he fell inside his home.
For performer Augie T, what sold him was knowing that a recently installed surveillance system from HI Alarm allowed his dad to get the medical attention he needed right away.
“I could see the value,” Augie said. “It was something that affected my family.”
After that, Augie decided to install a complete system in his own home and made the decision to help other families also have peace of mind.
Now Augie and his brothers can assist in monitoring his dad when he is home by himself, even if they are away from the home.
HI Alarm recently expanded operations to Kaua‘i from O‘ahu, joining up with Electronic Surveillance Systems, owned by Dave Hanamura.
Featured on KFVE as part of the new reality show, “Funny Business,” the show tracks the antics of the HI Alarm sales and installation team in their daily business.
Offering three types of security systems, including energy management, surveillance and home security, HI Alarm can also combine the three into a home automation package, which allows users the ability to automatically lock doors, turn lights on/off, and see from a remote location what is happening in their home.
Augie said the wireless system circumvents any concerns about burglars cutting wires outside before breaking in. It also uses “smash and crash” technology that immediately calls 911 when a home is forcibly entered.
The system also features a panic button allowing a person in the house to enable a two-way voice system to alert authorities to any problems.
“We received complaints of security companies coming in from the Mainland and people not being happy with their contracts,” said Augie. “HI Alarm is very affordable and the first 100 people to get a system installed, they pay a one-time activation fee and we’ll give them a free $1,200 security system when it’s installed.”
The company then charges a monthly fee to operate the system.
“It’s affordable for local people,” Augie said, noting that operating costs are comparable to the price of two bottles of water daily.
Augie said he likes the freedom of being able to make sure his family are safe, even when he’s away from home. The cameras help Augie and his wife keep an eye on their kids and dogs. They are able to see their comings and goings on a camera, which can be monitored from a smartphone or tablet.
“To give your family peace,” Augie said, “put your trust in us for your security needs.”
