KEKAHA — A privately-owned pick-up truck burned Monday afternoon next to the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Fire Department’s Waimea Station responded with Engine 7 and Truck 7 around 1 p.m. Monday, to a call about a truck fire across from Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church.
By the time firefighters arrived to the truck, which parked near the intersection of ‘Elepaio and Iwa roads, it was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished within minutes after arrival.
There were no injuries reported during the blaze but the truck is a total loss.
The owner of the truck, who did not wish to be identified, also did not want to talk about how the fire started, according to a friend at the scene.
