Damian Garma
Damian Garma of Kapaa, Kauai, died on January 15, 2013 at Garden Isle Health Care at the age of 86. Born on February 12, 1926, in Laoag City, Philippines, he was an Irrigator with Lihue Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Adriana Jacinto Garma; son, Roger “Mario” (Nora) Jacinto Garma of San Jose Calif.; daughters, Eliza (Wally) Garma Daquioag, and Rina (Thom) Garma Pascual; sister, Sebedilla Garma of Philippines; nine grandchildren, Marlon Gabriel Garma, Kristina Gabriel Garma, Mark Damian Gabriel Garma, Mary Garma Daquioag, Sheldon Garma Daquioag, Kenneth Garma Daquioag, Kirstie Mia Garma Pascual, Kleiff Garma Pascual, and Kyleen Nina Garma Pascual; and two great-grandchildren, Jaezallyn, and Kailani.
Wake services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapaa, with viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and Mass celebrated at 10 am. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Francisca Gasmen
Francisca Supnet Gasmen of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 19, 2013, at the age of 79. She was born in Ilocos Sur, Narvacan, Philippines on March 9, 1933 and retired from Kauai Sands as a laundry attendant.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Constante and Mario Gasmen.
She is survived by her husband, Eusebio Gasmen of Kapaa; seven children, Rogelio (Leonida) Gasmen, Rudy (Regina) Gasmen, Sammy (Vangie) Gasmen, Rizalde (Marilou) Gasmen, Evelyn (Ricky) Cunanan, all of Oahu; Lisa Gasmen of Hanamaulu, Kimo (Emily) Gasmen of the Philippines; 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Citas Fontanillia, Dominga Antonio, Caridad Contillo, all of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at St. Catherine church with viewing from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Kealia.

Howard Tengan
Howard Morio Tengan of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 24, 2013, at the age of 81. He was born in Kalaheo on May 5, 1931, and retired as a produce clerk with Big Save Markets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Saburo and Shige Tengan; two sisters, Shizue Agena and Hisako Okasako.
He is survived by his wife, Emi Tengan; son, John Tengan; daughters, Janet (Jesse) Vaughn, Ellen (Brandon) Mitsuda; one granddaughter; brother, Reginald (Michiko) Tengan of Oahu; sisters, Clara Tengan of San Francisco, Grace Nakamatsu of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013, at Kapaa Jodo Mission with services celebrated at 11:00.

Josefina Sagucio
Josefina Beltran Fayloga Sagucio of Eleele, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on January 4, 2013 at her residence at the age of 98. Born on March 16, 1914, in Pagudpud, Bangui, Ilocos Norte, she was a laborer at Dole Cannery, Kapaa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Gervacio Sagucio; and parents, Venancio and Victoria Beltran Fayloga; and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Esperanza (Orlino) Antolin Sr.; five grandchildren, Oriente (late Garrick) Nakaahiki, Rosaly (Frank) Domenden, Leoni (Allan) Texeira, Orlino (Ivy) Antolin Jr. and Imelda (Paul) Delos Reyes; ten great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Saint Johns Episcopal Church, Eleele. Visitation will be from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. with mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.; Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Cemetery, Lihue.

Necomides Pedronan
Necomides Pedronan of Lihue passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on January 29, 2013, at the age of 86. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on April 10, 1926, and retired from the Lihue Plantation after 49 years as a laborer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Luisa Pedronan; brother, Elpidio Pedronan; brother-in-laws, Alfred Andrade and Lino Romares.
He is survived by his brothers, Marcello (Adele) Pedronan of Hanamaulu and Flor (Rose) Pedronan of Oahu; sisters, Nives (Thomas) Soriano and Helen Pedronan of Lihue; Susan Andrade of Lawai; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Bernadette “Bernie” Atendido
Bernadette “Bernie” Kuuipo Young Atendido of Kapaa, Kauai passed away at her home on February 3, 2013 at the age of 65. Born on June 6, 1947 on Oahu, she was a retired Custodian.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lincoln Koon Ling Young; mother, Mary Fuller; brothers, Charles Young, Lincoln Young, Jr.; sisters, Veronica “Bonnie” Rivera, and Frances “Fanny” Albao Hafferkemp.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Atendido; brothers, Joseph “Joe” (Stella) Young, and Llewellyn “Lew” (Dee) Young; sisters, Eleanore (Howard) Rodrigues, and Ernesta (John) Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 5:00 pm and where memorial services will be celebrated at 6:00 pm.

Agnes Medeiros
Agnes “Auntie Aggie” M. Medeiros of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on January 30, 2013 at her residence at the age of 86. Born on January 21, 1927 in Kapaa, Kauai, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia Teves; and husband, Frank Medeiros.
She is survived by Frank (Mary Lou) Medeiros, Kapaa, Collins (Lorna) Medeiros, Kapaa; daughters, Agnes (James) Freitas, Kapaa, and Patricia Medeiros, Kapaa; sisters, Violet (Robert) Medeiros, Oahu, Edna Lopes, Oahu, and Audrey Quick, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends of the family may visit on Saturday February 16, 2013 at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, Kapaa. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M.; Burial to follow at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery.

James Sukisaki
James Murashi Sukisaki of Koloa, Kauai, died on January 20, 2013 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. Born on November 5, 1934 in Koloa, Kauai, he was a retired carpenter with Shioi Contruction Ltd.
Preceded in death by his parents, Muneji and Toma Sukisaki; brother, Iwao Sukisaki; and sisters, Ayako Michioka and Yuriko Shimonishi.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sukisaki; sons, Kearn Sukisaki of Koloa, Cary Sukisaki of Ewa Beach, and Randy (Kainoa) Sukisaki of Hilo; step-daughters, Jenny (Dwayne) Keomaka of Honolulu and Colleen (Kale) Kaehu of Puhi, and daughter, Melanie (Layne Pai) Sukisaki of Eleele; brother, Isao Sukisaki; sisters, Yoshino Ishii, Shizue Nakata, and Patricia (Vernon) Scribner of Lawai; sixteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Koloa Jodo Mission, at 4:00 pm.

Toshio Tone
Toshio Tone of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away on January 24, 2013 at home at the age of 94. Born to Fukuichi and Shiyo Tone on May 12, 1918 in Kapaa, Kauai, he was a sewer treatment plant operator with County of Kauai.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sadao Tone; and nephew, Wayne Tone.
He is survived by his nephews, Miles (Karen) Tone and Glenn (Adele) Tone; sister-in-law, Masayo O. Tone; grand nephew, Byron (Jennifer) Tone, Daren (Leila) Tone, Kyle Tone, and Kevin Tone; grand nieces, Kristin Tone and Kelsie Tone; great-grand nephew, Coen Tone; and great-grand nieces, Kasen Tone and Kaya Tone.
Private service was held at Kapaa Hongwanji on January 31, 2013.

Moses Ragasa
Moses “Moki” Ragasa of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on January 14, 2013 at the age of 85 at Tripler Medical Hospital, Oahu. Born on December 14, 1927 in Kohala, Hawaii, he was a fisherman on charter boats and a Chef at Kauai Surf Hotel. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimiro and Bonifacio Ragasa; brothers, Jaime “Jim”, Fred “Punta”, and Marcelino “Masa” Ragasa; and sister, Felicia “Fely” Ragasa.
He is survived by his brother, Larry (Eleanor) Ragasa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe. Visitation and service will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; internment of ashes to follow.
