WAIPOULI — The Kaua‘i Department of Water is advising the public that its contractor, Goodfellow Bros., Inc., will be replacing a water main segment in Waipouli starting Monday. The project is expected to be completed by June of this year.
The work will take place at night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. along the shoulder of Kuhio Highway from Keaka Road to ‘Ulu Street.
While construction is under way, the northbound lane of Kuhio Highway will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the utility lane of the roadway.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use caution while traveling through the construction area, observing all construction signs and traffic control devices, and to allow for extra travel time, county officials said.
