When you have had your fill of the onolicious Mexican cuisine at La Bamba Mexican Restaurant, make sure you wash it down with a delicious and refreshing beverage.
There are several great choices to choose from at La Bamba — from the Li Hing Mui Mango Margarita, to the Jarritos (a Mexican soda), to the Fruit Spritzer.
This week we’ll be focusing on these three beverages. The wonderful thing about these drinks is that they are all kid-friendly — with the exception of the Li Hing Mui Mango Margarita, which you can request without the alcohol.
Li Hing Mui Mango Margarita
• Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila
• Mango puree
• Cup of ice
• Blend until nice and smooth
• Li hing mui on rim
With the Li hing mui sprinkled on top as part of a margarita, it is something unique, tasty and very local.
This drink was created in-house and is priced at $5.25. I haven’t encountered many li hing mui flavored drinks on the island (I’m probably not looking in the right places), but I’m sure glad I found this one at La Bamba. Several of my friends and I agree that this drink is among our current favorites to quench our thirsts.
Jarritos
Another delicious beverage at La Bamba is Jarritos.
Jarritos is a popular Mexican soda that originated in the 1950s. At La Bamba there are six different flavors to choose from: tamarind, mandarin, strawberry, lemon-lime, mango and pineapple. Jarritos are $2.75.
Fruit Spritzer
• Strawberry puree
• Club soda
• Splash of Sprite
• Serve on the rocks
This drink is very fun for the kids and is very refreshing. It is $3.75 and comes in three flavors: mango, passion and strawberry.
